The Akeidah - Isaac's Point of View
| A midrash by Jenn and Ali. |
Father has brought me up to this mountain and I have no idea what is happening. Dad says G-d will provide a lamb for the burnt offering.
*******************************************************************************
I now am tied up and looking into my father's fearful eyes.
I fear for the very worst as I look up at the knife that hangs over me.
All of a sudden, my father's head perks up and it looks like he's talking to someone that isn't there.
After he is done "talking," he removes the knife from above my body.
His head turns and he spies a ram cought in the thicket by his horns.
H then unties me and put the ram in the very place that I was just short seconds ago.
*******************************************************************************
Father and I are walking down the hill silently.
His eyes tear up and I know that this will be the last dangerous encounter my father and I ever have.
THE END.
